Choice and Accountablity

Today in Relief Society class we talked about freedom of choice. It was so interesting, because several people brought up the fact that when we make the right choices we have a better outcome.  That we have a better life. Duh!!! It isn't really that Heavenly Father is blessing us more than those who don't make good choices, it is that we are trying to do the best with what we are blessed with on this earth. I am not a huge Dr. Phil fan, but I remember him saying this several years ago and I still remember it and repeat it often: "When you choose the behavior, you choose the consequence". There are so many people on this earth that think life is so hard and they deserve more and that the world owes them because they have had a hard life. They need to take a look at the person in the mirror and think about the choices they have made in their lives and the consequences that come from those choices. We are all put on this earth to make something of ourselves and we cannot blame others if we don't succeed. I am a strong believer that the choices we make in life have everything to do with how our lives turn out. We need to be accountable for our choices and live life to the fullest. I know I am rambling, and I hope those who read this understand where I am coming from. Have a wonderful evening my dears. I choose to do just that!

  2. I completly agree. That quote by Dr. Phil is great and very, very true. I really have a hard time with people that think they deserve something because they made a bad choice and think that they were dealt a bad hand. Oh well, I will just keep trying my hardest. Love always, Laura

  3. Amen!!! I couldn't agree with you more! I, for one, get tired of hearing people complain about their life and how picked on they are - but, when they have an opportunity to make the right choice, change their situation, or make things right, they don't, instead they choose to blame it on someone else! Life is hard for all of us at certain times, deal with it, fix it and move on - make the right choice or deal with the consequences! Great post! Love you.

  6. Yup. Life is a series of decisions to be made, ramifications to be understood and accountability to be had.
